About Dino Jag Fun, funky, energetic and entertaining! This is Dino Jag Dino is fast becoming a recognised name in the international music world. The release of "Play That Funky Music" is creating quite a buzz that will certainly lead to international acclaim. Within weeks of its release on iTunes, Dino Jag's funkalicious remakes of the classic hit began to appear on the "Top 100" Dance/Electronic charts around the world, hitting number 34 in Denmark & then climbing up to number 8 in Australia. When Dino first erupted onto the Australian music scene with the reworking of the classic Stevie Wonder hit, ÒSuperstitionÓ, little did the world know how far this dude from Òthe City of ChurchesÓ would go to confound the public. Hailing from South Australia, Dino is one of musicÕs true mavericks and one of AustraliaÕs best exports. A talented individual with a voice to match! With a storied past and a bright future ahead, in the days of reality talent shows such as X Factor and Pop Idol, Dino Jag is somewhat of a coherent source of inspiration for other aspiring musicians. ItÕs been a long and varied journey, where Dino has traveled disparate musical terrains with an insatiable thirst for fresh sounds and vibrant energy. Whilst performing with funk/rock band Stolen Waters (1995-1998), Dino was nominated ÒBest Male VocalistÓ for three consecutive years at the South Australian Music Industry AwardÕs (SAMIA). Prior to that, many would have unknowingly heard Dino's voice featured on many local & national radio & TV campaigns. His writing & remixing style has also given Dino the opportunity to work on projects with some of the worldÕs greatest musicians & recording artists such as Ray Columbus, Sir Paul McCartney, Rusty Anderson & most recently, with Australian icon Barry Crocker. As a live performer, Dino has shared the stage with a diverse array of artists including Screaming Jets, Richie Sambora, Sammy Hagar, Boom Crash Opera, Don Burrows, James Morrison & Steve Vai. In a shift of dynamic energy, Dino has also recently been entertaining a broad array of audiences with his live acoustic act DC Acoustic. Dino Jag started performing live when he was 13 years old as a guitarist/singer in a cabaret band with his older brother Val who was the drummer in the band. His parents were in the food & liquor industry and knew a lot caterers and people who were having parties, thus providing a lot of gigs and practice for the young performer. At 19 Dino joined The Fraud Squad and spent the next couple of years in Queensland touring with the band on the covers circuit. The band pushed him to front of the stage without his guitar and made him their lead vocalist. Although he did not find it easy to adapt in this role, Dino eventually found his way working these gigs 7 days a week for the next couple of years. Craving a change in direction and new inspiration Dino returned back to Adelaide and became a tenor with the 20-piece Adelaide Connection Jazz choir. That year they performed at the Adelaide Festival Theatre with the Don Burrows Quintet which also featured trumpet player virtuoso James Morrison. This then culminated in the studio album ÒMakinÕ Whoopee!Ó with the Don Burrows Quintet and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Dino then started to get work as a session singer for radio & TV campaigns. In one of his first session gigs Dino was called in to sing on a radio campaign which was to launch Coopers Light Beer. The advert went on to win the prestigious "Clio Award" (international radio category) in New York. It seems the world is waking up to the sounds of his great talent and shaking their booty at the same time! This is Dino Jag - prepare to be entertained!
